Like to comment on this review?. If a first-century Roman walked into a Catholic parish today, he’d be shocked to see a crucifix on the wall. Even more strange would be the artistic adornments on the crucifix—he would only see an instrument of capital punishment. As we are confronted with Good Friday and Jesus’ Passion, it would help to look at the crucifixion more from the eyes of that first-century Roman than from .Jesus’s scourging, march to Golgotha, nailing to the cross and death all occurred in a matter of hours.

Many crucifixion victims hung on the cross for days. Jesus, by comparison, died quickly. During these 40 Days, we are asking everyone to offer some kind of fasting/abstinence and/or penance, and to pray the daily prayers of the Auxilium Christianorum.

Specifically, we are asking for protection for Fr. Donald Calloway and for his monumental and most necessary book on St. Joseph to be published. Prayers to be said every day.
